Morning, afternoon and good evening – hello. God I have not done a blog post in 2 weeks, I am such a bad blogger (or am I, who made up the rules hey!?). Anyway, I have had a jammed packed 2 weeks in which I really have not had the time to relax after work to do this, as I have been pretty much cream crackered. So what have I been up to I hear you yell (I wish!), work nights out, catching up FINALLY with all my favourite girls (so freaked out right now, playing on my ipod is Girls just wanna have fun!, as I am writing about my girls) haha, Wireless Festival, Brighton days out and other activities.
Ps – the quote above is for anyone who is feeling absolute rubbish, my bff sent me it when she found out that my counsellor believes I am now suffering from low self esteem, depression and anxiety (life is brilliant!! 🙂 )
Let’s go on an adventure, if you don’t want to – check out my other blog posts.
My first night out in a while with the work guys and girls, we ended up going to Rileys (a snooker and pool bar), it completely went all tits up when the manager forgot to put us on our system, but we eventually got there. It ended up 2 team and by the end of the night, all of my friends realised I am absolutely shite at this game its ridiculous haha! But throughout the games, I noticed as to how much they were drinking, I was made to look bloody amazing.
Two nights before this, we had a sing star night which ended up in a lot of drunken snap chats!
Awkward point of the night, the boy I like close friend came into the centre with many other boys and thankfully he was not there, otherwise it would be really rather awkward – considering that one of the girls I was with knows about the situation. haha!
Next up was a night out with my beauts of best friends, its such a rare occasion for us all to get together due to work commitments, being parents and/or in relationships – where I am just sat at home being Bridget Jones. Absolutely brilliant night out, far too many photos (this photo is so blurred, but I absolutely adore it!) and far far too many drinks!!
Awkward moment of the night – remember to pack a brolly or a coat, running through the town centre with an oversized Argos carrier bag is never a good look, especially when its huge!!
The following weekend, it was Wireless time! Me and one of my girlies went last year and I really could not fault the festival, just absolutely a blast and its amazing when the sun is shining. Last year Justin Timberlake was headlining with Jay Z and this year the headliner was Bruno Mars and , my god I want to go to a Bruno Mars concert now.
Here’s a video from last year, I apologise for the shakiness at the start I was dancing the night away:
The weather throughout the day was off and on between heavy rain and bright blue skies with sunshine, so no one really knew as to what was happening, what to wear and what to do.
This is what I ended up wearing, my wellies from George Asda, my dress is absolutely beautiful and now one of my ultimate favourites from Primark. The headband is from Top shop 🙂 For once I bared my legs, I thought I am not gonna know anyone there apart from my girlies, and I am just going to enjoy life! Top tip of the day, wear socks that cover the tops of wellies!!! I have never been in pain on my calves before, where my wellies gave me blisters!! Oh and leggings that you don’t use any more, are always a great comfort for the larger ladies when cut into shorts!
Here’s me with the girlies, loving life in the sunshine, the cider is flowing and we’re in our summery clothes. Our faces are painted, we donated through Stand up to Cancer, music is blaring and we are just loving life 🙂 I’ve weirdly had a few comments from other friends recently, where they’ve said “oh I have seen you’re friends with red heads?”………… shocked and appalled
I have never really had a close “brunette” friend, so the rule that a blonde should have a brunette best mate, I say f**k your stands. Blondes and red heads should be best friends – 10 years going strong.
The weather kept changing throughout the day, but the music was keeping everyone awake, buzzing and loving it. I saw, Neon Jungle (didn’t know who they were, but they were good), John Newman (I had my reservations about him, but seriously fricking amazing live!! – what a voice!), Ellie Goulding (absolutely stunningly beautiful, with a beautiful voice and party atmosphere was brilliant), Outkast (brilliant) and Bruno Mars (heavenly).
Throughout the end of Outkast, we could see the clouds were becoming darker and darker and suddenly the heavens just opened out of no where, it was like an American rain shower! We got soaked, I was soaked right through to my underwear lol was so bad!
We did try and stay wet, but in the end we did just think – fuck it. Then the man himself came on, and started to sing “today I don’t feel like doing anything”, not heard a crowd so loud in a long time. Everyone was soaked but everyone was dancing and singing. The skies were beautiful:
At one point there was a double rainbow for a very long time, it was one of those moments where I truly will not forget. Moments like this, when you’re with the ones you love and trust the most, those moments where you had to be there, those moments that mean something truly special to you, are the ones you have to keep extra close to you. We all went home with a huge smile on our faces and the next day unable to move due to dancing so much – sign of a great day & night!
Two days later, me and my brother went to Brighton to visit my best friend from Uni with her two little girls – 1 1/2 year old and her 4 month old who I had never met and my brother had not met either of the girls. It was an absolutely beautiful day, the sun was shining strong. I ended up with a bloody burnt/red chest (damn you boobs!!) and photographs that mean so much to me.
I have been to Brighton a few times now and it was weird after watching the Zoella videos, realising that she lives here so does Alfie and Marcus as well. We were doing the same things that they were doing. But it’s just such a beautiful city.
I did see Katie Price on the pier, in a bright orange crop top with her orange skin and her baby bump sticking out. She was with her husband and her kids and …… I thought she would look glamorous but she could look like any girl who forgot to dress up and wanted to head to the shops quickly, in case no one see’s her. That’s how she reminded me lol.
Just ridiculously stunning.
We then decided to walk around the shops for a bit and went through all of the little lanes, it just such a beautiful place, full of lovely people, quirky, individual and so fashionable. It seemed such a friendly place and it was great to be there with my best friend her two girls and my brother.
I wish I lived closer to her 😦
Finally, yes I know…….. finally (thanks for sticking by me lol). Today at work I was presented with two gift vouchers for all my volunteering that I do at work, even my supervisor said “finally you are getting the recognition you deserve)!
Anyway, thanks for reading – next time I will not leave it so much!!
