So the weirdest thing happened the other day, I actually won a competition on Twitter… I thought naaaaaaaaaaah I haven’t won, I absolutely haven’t!! All I did was RT a tweet and follow a lovely blogger, but I won! Thanks to Dave Lackie (https://twitter.com/davelackie) for choosing me as the winner.
Today was a really bad day at work, it was so stressful and I just felt really aaargh! I got home and saw a lovely parcel on the table and I was instantly happy. I knew exactly what it was. I had already told people on Instagram that I won and so many were jealous and now I have the products.
I am really not one to buy designer products such as Christian Dior. To be honest, I don’t even think I would even look due to the pricing, so this makes me extra excited. Plus it always helps that the initials for Christian Dior, are exactly the same as my own – hello personalised make up!!
How gorgeous first of all is this product colour and the packaging! It’s just beautiful. This is the Diorshow Fushion Mono Matte eye shadow. The texture is that of a mousse, kind of the same as Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. It’s a gorgeous colour, which gives you the natural effect but also stating that you are wearing make up & says, you dont need to show off and to only wear minimal. Going to be wearing this a lot!
I am a lipstick lover, I love a lot of shades and red is one of my favourites. So I was very happy when I got this. My mum on the other hand, wanted it right then and still now – gotta keep an eye on her! I love how clear and beautiful (yes that word again, but it is!!) the red pigment is. I did wonder as to whether it would be really strong, but I have applied a swatch – YES I am one of those and I was shocked.
The pigment is not actually as strong as you think, its more of a tinted gloss. Which in my eyes is even better! It lasts a really long time, lovely texture and of course – tastes alright on the lips too.
This was my biggest shock…….. ITS BLUE!! I have not seen blue mascara since the 90’s but I will give anything a go. I am looking forward to using this, as I did actually love to wear blue mascara in the past. Lovely wand, I am hoping its waterproof, as I do tend to cry a bit haha!
Within the first photo, I was really intrigued what the black product was and it turns out to be a velvet (yes we are going posh!) carrier for the eye shadow pouch. Hello mega cuteness!
Weirdly enough, my friend has stated that this is the make up which she is using for her wedding day in a few months time. Again she is mega jealous that I have it. I love love love these colours, these are brilliant for day and evening times too. Cute little applicators and of course the mirror is adorable. The pigments of the eye shadows are brilliant, they are subtle yet effective in a way of “look into my eyes, wit woo!”
So there you have it……. I still can’t believe I won! Look out for more of Dave’s competitions, take it from me. You seriously never know when you are going to win!!
Thanks again xo
PS – these are my opinions, I have not been asked to write this blog at all!
Lovely post, I too am very jealous of your win but you deserve it! I would love to try the Dior eyeshadow palette so you’ll have to let me know how you get on. As for the blue mascara I too remember this as a 90’s must have teamed with blue eyeliner – oh the nostalgia! Congrats on your win, it’s nice to know someone that’s actually won a Twitter comp and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer girl 🙂 Jen XOXO
