Be you, feel beautiful

0051e2347640658b907f31ddc798591c

I don’t know whether its an age thing, it probably is, but I am starting to feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. Yes of course there are days where you just think “what the fuck do I look like?” but most of the time I think “yeah, this is me, i’m fine with that”.

Why should we be so focused on looking like the models or celebrities in the magazines, when they are airbrushed to high heaven and they have the best make up artists in the world? Whilst little old us, sit there in our rooms trying to make our best look the best, trying the different techniques, the wrong colours, the eyebrows too bold and the lipstick is all smudged.

However, of course you can look amazing but if your inner self isn’t happy then it is not really going to show!!

mememeHere’s me. Here is me au naturelle and full of make up. I like both “me’s”. I feel comfortable with both me’s and I may be judged by others, but why should those opinions affect me?

So to those girls who wear no make up, some make up, full blown make up and those who are featured on programmes such as snog, marry or avoid – be you, be happy but don’t be someone else because of someone elses’s opinion.

Be comfortable in your own skin.

  1. Yes! I love this post so much. I used to care so much about my appearance and the older I’ve got the less I’m worried about what other people think. It’s great to feel happy in your own skin! Ps. You look lovely with or without makeup! πŸ™‚

  2. Hey!

I’m loving your blog and honesty, but I would also like to invite you to submit a short piece to my own. I think your perspective and style of writing would be a perfect piece for my project.

It’d also be a great way to get your blog/writing out there.

Please feel free to email me (jennifer@youngandtwenty) with more questions, or take a look at the β€˜BEING Young & Twenty’ page on my blog.

    I hope I’ll hear from you πŸ™‚
