It’s my favourite time of the year, it’s that time where the nights are drawing in, we’re getting in our comfies early and Saturdays are there for us to transform into a glittery dream. Strictly Come Dancing has been on our screens now for so long, I cannot remember a time when it was not on a Saturday night.
To me Strictly is the pinnacle of Saturday night entertainment.
It’s that warm cup of tea that you love, your favourite comfort blanket – it’s that show that you will always love and that love grows every year.
I am without a doubt definitely not the best dancer, and I cannot provide the strongest dance opinions, but I love to watch the development, growth and fun that the stars are having. I love seeing the celebrities transform into dancers, to provide us with the laughter, the feel goods and fill us with pride when their dance finishes and their score is provided. Let’s not even go there with the most amazing costumes and make up, the themed weeks are to die for and how hilarious the judges and presenters are (Tess, Claudia and Zoe #girlpower), the brilliant singers and musicians each week performing the most amazing songs. And finally, the amazing amazing amazing professional dancers, the ones that have come and gone, and those who are still on the show now. You are all incredible.
As the new series/season has started, I thought I would take a look back on my favourite performances that I watch time and time again (and not everyone’s obvious choices are here):
So you may or may not have noticed but The Voice is on at the moment, and its unfortunately the last series on the BBC before the big takeover on ITV. We all know that The Voice has found amazing stars, but unfortunately there have been no real winners. Each year I think “oh my god this is the best singer in years” etc etc, and they win and/or on the show and they just dwindle from public eye.
In my eyes the XFACTOR lost it’s …well…. xfactor (pardon the pun) a good few years ago, I would say Little Mix year. When I heard that the Voice was coming to the UK, I was mega excited.
Yes the judges are good, but the acts are just brilliant. Come in all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, genres and NO joke acts!! They all look genuinely happy to be there, even if they get a no!! So let’s take a look at my favourite ever performances, whether they be solo or duets. Beware, I do love this show. Continue reading “Why The Voice is better than The X Factor”→
Just looking through previous posts and came across the Brits 2014 post, with my views and opinions of who should win the awards. I therefore thought it might be fun to do this again. The Brit awards is one of my favourite nights, as it includes – music, drama, very Britishness and of course those iconic moments (who could forget Madonna and that cape last year!) So let’s take a look at this years nominations (apart from British Producer), click on their images for the song:
Tonight was the return of the X Factor live shows and it started with a bang. Now I will let you know now, I am an X Factor fan and I love a good reality show – but I prefer Strictly (post to come) hehe. I am glad that Cheryl and Simon are back, Louis is of course just as bonkers as always and I personally think Mel B is a brilliant addition, as the feisty, truthful yet emotional judge. Three huge points I have to make:
1. Paul Akister has been my favourite from the start, and should have been there last year. 2. Mel’s category (weirdly Spice Girls just came on my Itunes!) is THE best, the boys are amazing. 3. Jake Quickenden is in the Boys category but he is 26…. which surely makes him be in the Overs category?! What is the age limit?! ** I have just found out that Jake was 25 when he auditioned, but it seems that 26 – Over 25’s and 25 is the boys**, so yay in still in the Girls category lol!
I am just going to give my views and opinions of the performances tonight 🙂 ** all images are from the X Factor website **
As a Brit we are known for watching a lot of telly and now we have a new show (well in its 3rd series now haha), but its in my opinion the best new hyped programme & its called Gogglebox.
Gogglebox is a TV show where we watch various families watching TV whilst we’re watching them on TV. When you try to describe it to someone it sounds absolutely ridiculous and delusional but its heart warming, hilarious and memorable. We learn to love the characters in which we see every week, we see them grow, change and learn all of their little traits. Each week this programme is trending on Twitter and its viewing count increasing every week. If you have never seen anything about this, here’s a little snippet that I have found *click on the image* 🙂
