Helloooooo, how are you are you well and smiling today. I hope you are because its bloody miserable outside, I was awoken at 9:20 this morning by the biggest clap of thunder I had ever heard and no more thunder after that. Anyway as its payday week and I have not had a lot of time to go shopping I thought I had to go today. As tonight I have a girls night out, I needed something to wear and woohoo I could not find one single thing – BUT I did find other things 🙂
I thought I would write about what make up and products I use on a daily basis (or when I can be bothered to wear make up, which at the moment is not that often), hopefully this interests you and if you are interested I also hope that you look into buying some of these products 🙂 – first of all, I would like to apologise for my photos – damn sunshine going in! haha.
These are my bare essentials that I need on a daily basis, my Nair Hair sensitive removal facial cream is a part of my daily life. As I have PCOS I am very wary of extra hair on my face, it can come across as darker than my blonde hair and I hate it! I am forever conscious of this and I found this cream for £1 in poundland, I was surprised when I was buying the same stuff in Superdrug for £5!! That leads me swiftly on to Superdrug, I believe that they are my ultimate favourite drug store, if Soap and Glory was sold here I wouldn’t shop anywhere else. Their facial cleansing wipes in Camomille are just delicious (and no I don’t eat them!) they are a gorgeous scent, make your face feel so fresh afterwards. The cotton wool is always on offer usually 2 for 1 or buy one get one free, which is always the best. Finally my last photo is me thinking, bugger how am I going to put all these in the photos haha!
Facially I use 4 products, I do have other ones that I use but these are my fall to items and the ones that I use the most. Deep Action products again are Superdrug, they have a lovely scent, they both leave your face feeling very smooth and refreshed and of course……. clean. St Ives deep pore cleansing is not only used in the shower when your pores are “open” but also afterwards, I love how although the cream is soft the beads allow for a rough texture to take away all of your dead skin. The last is the Clearasil Superfruit Refreshing Pads, wow these are cold when they go onto your face and it definitely awakens your skin, fresh fruity smell and takes away all of your lovely make up which you have spent ages putting on.
My skin is all over the place (all of the time, proper combination skin going on here!). I found the Look Beauty Skin Fix Kit in again Superdrug and to be honest I was amazed by the cute packaging. I have used it once or twice and it is my backup for getting some extra colour on my cheeks, it includes foundation, concealer and highlighter. Although the brush is not that brilliant it is effective in making sure your skin does look lovely. My favourite favourite concealer product is definitely without a doubt the ELF corrective concealer, the shades are yellow, blue, green and pink and each colour covers all your skin flaws. I am often finding myself using the green and blue to help conceal my beautifully red skin haha!! I highly recommend.
As many other bloggers love it, the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder is just ridiculously good, I have it in the Silky Beige and it just sets your face perfectly. It is not too overpowering, too dusty and it just allows for an oily face person like me to not be so shiny! My only concealer that I use apart from the ELF one shown in previous photo is ELF All Over Stick, it smells great, the coverage is brilliant it comes in all different shades. I for the life of me because my room is a state cannot find my favourite foundation – Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid – which is the best, best for coverage, shade, smoothness etc etc. My second favourite is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, it is a bit shiny but I use it for those days I am not too keen on myself and finally the Mayebelline Dream Matte Mousse – delicious.
I really don’t often use blusher, I need to invest in watching more videos as to how to properly apply blusher for those extra chubby cheeks of mine! There are two that I have found B (vegan non animal testing product) – Glowing Shimmer Block Just Peachy and the Look Cheeky Trio. Although the Look product shows you how to do it all, I need someone to do it for me!!
First of all I highly apologise for the photos of this one, but you can clearly see how much I love the product on the left hand side – Elf Eyebrow Kit. Its just the best, its a cream and a powder which combines gives you amazing eyebrows – not to look like a HD brow tart but the still natural look. The second is the W7 Naked Nudes, I kept seeing everyone buy the NAKED Urban Decay and I thought 1. I for one cannot afford that, 2. I need to find a cheap alternative and this is what I found…… it’s perfect.
My favourite mascara of them all – Maybelline Colousal Cat’s Eyes – 1 coat and you’re done, its black, bold and effective! Elf Makeup Remover pen for when your little mistakes happy. Flirty Flick eyeliner pen by Look, is thick, bold and so easy to apply to your eyes and finally my favourite tweezers which I believe I got from Morrisons. The reason in which I have painted it red is because I have two of them, 1 is easier to use than the other and therefore I cant be bothered to keep finding the proper tweezer.
LIPSTICKS LIPSTICKS GET YOUR LIPSTICKS!!! My favourite make up product, 1 – Kate Moss – 107, 2, ELF Lip Exfoliator 3. ELF Moisturising Lipstick and finally Beauty UK lipstick…… there’s the swatch 🙂 enjoy.
Finally, my perfumes. Dare I say more than the collection that I have………… beautiful.
A girl must always have perfume, whether it is for different seasons, occasions, people or just her mood there must always be a selection I believe and I myself have had quite a few so here are my top choices:
Paco Rabanne – Lady Million
First things first, yes it is a bloody expensive perfume but its so worth it. The smell is a sweet but musky scent, it lingers for hours and especially if you put a spritz of it in your hair it lasts for hours. The bottle is a beaut, the colour and the design definitely gives it that luxury feel which matches alongside the scent. I have gone through three since last Summer (2012) and I have not looked back at all. I think I found it when I was just looking through a magazine, so there you go promoters and markets your advertisements do work! Well done to you.
It comes in three different sizes and I usually get the medium sized one as I do use quite a bit but I just love it too much.
Marc Jacobs – Daisy
My go to perfume, the summery delicate scent which is so girly and floaty it is just wonderful. I have had this for a number of years now and I absolutely love it. This is kind of a joint 1st place, but I had to put it down to number 2 as the Lady Million perfume makes me feel special and this is one that I use on a daily basis.
The packaging is just adorable just look at it, so cute!! I think I have about 5 bottles of this and I will keep buying them until they stop (PLEASE DONT STOP MAKING IT!!) . I have tried the “pink version” with the pink, yellow and white flower. It is very similar but no where near as sweet and nice, it does have a more of a muskier smell to it, anyway back to this amazing perfume.
It’s perfect for those summer days or when its a wintery day and you wish to be reminded of the summer its the best. The only downside is as much as I love the daisy’s when carrying it in your bag, I am often leaving them behind.
Ghost – Deep Night
For something completly different from my first two, this perfume I believe is my first perfume in which I used to buy regularly until Daisy came along. It actually became my signature scent at one point, then I introduced it to my Nan and my Auntie and guess what they both started wearing it. As much as I love those two, I had to stop wearing it suddenly it became a family perfume. A perfume is all about being individual.
The bottle is just a classic, the sizes are great too apart from the small version which is very small.
It is a deep romantic and full of scents of a perfume, ideal for those warm cosy nights in but also date nights. I would actually buy it again as I am pretty much missing it, god I hope they still sell them!! They must do surely, it’s a classic.
Givenchy – Givenchy Ange ou Demon Le Secret
This particular perfume I came across in the duty free at an airport before going on holiday, when I first smelt it I was blown away by how fruity it was. PERFECT for the summer holiday I was about to go on to America. It is a very light perfume, as I said it is fruity, sweet but still with a hint of sophistication.
Many fruity perfumes often are shown to be cheap and for those who are of a younger age but this is just a lovely scent. The bottle is great, the only downside is that it won’t fit in a small bag. The price at the time 3 years ago was a bit pricey, but of course I was in a holiday mood and wanted it. I was gutted when I came back from the wonderful airport and it had smashed in the bag but hey, my clothes smelt amazing haha!
Chanel – Chance
I myself have never had this perfume and that is one of the reasons as to why this as number 5, but I absolutely love the smell of this. One of the biggest reasons as to why this is at number 5 is that, I kept hinting to my Mum I love this perfume and guess what she goes and does, likes it herself and buys it for herself. Hmmm…. So, I always feel a bit miffed at this perfume, because I want to have it but it’s now my Mum’s scent.
It’s luxurious delicate but powerful. Beautiful and simple bottle which can fit anywhere, although the price can be a bit on the high side there are often many sales on this particular product. It is always my go to perfume when I am in Boots or Superdrug whenever I need a perfume lift.
So I thought I would go for something different for this blog, as I love my products and I love to challenge myself with different make up’s, perfumes, clothes and accessories it is what I enjoy talking about and guess what I will keep doing that. I of course will still be doing the random blogs in which my thoughts need to be aired. My grammar and punctuation is not perfect, but I write how as I speak. So if I do not make any sense it is because I actually do not make any sense in life.
